About Chris
Christopher Pettit is a nationally-recognized water and environmental expert. Christopher has significant experience overseeing policy development, grant and cost share programs, program and project management, contractual negotiations, and data management. Previously, Christopher served as the Executive Director of the Washington State Water Conservation Commission and the Director of the Office of Agricultural Water Policy at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Christopher’s experience also includes senior-level positions with Palm Beach County, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, and the South Florida Water Management District.
In these roles, Christopher had programmatic oversight of Everglades Restoration projects and contracts, regulatory development and compliance, the development and implementation of statewide conservation programs, water and wastewater projects and programs, and local government environmental and solid waste endeavors.
Christopher holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, an L.L.M. in International and Environmental Law from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and Bachelor of Arts in Political History and Economics from the New College of Florida.
